Is your preteen or teen son or daughter feeling lonely, purposeless, adrift? Are they suffering from depression from these challenges? Do they feel isolated, bored, and like they have nowhere to belong? Are you struggling to find a program that will balance their needs for fun, education, socialization, and PE?
Do you have an autistic son or daughter that wants to meet new friends but doesn’t fit into the “normal” enrichment program? Is your son or daughter enthralled with Lord of the Rings or Narnia? Then you have found the right place!
This fall Dana Susan Beasley, homeschool mother and curriculum author, along with her nephew (aka) Nathen Creed and his lovely wife Jaden (AKA Victoria), will lead this extraordinary club that will bring excitement and friendship to homeschooling teens in the Colorado Springs area.
Nathen will be facilitating the LARPing experience through our own fantasy world that he we created. Along with that, you will have the opportunity to play drama games, make swords and medieval accessories, and get suggestions on creating your own costumes.
Mission/Vision/Purpose: To provide Christ-centered and character based Live Action Role Playing, battle skirmish physical education, arts and crafts and drama lessons and practice.
The LARPing homeschool classes are held during the school year through April on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month. Our events are on the 2nd Saturdays of the month. The events are open to homeschoolers and public and private school students.
This year we will be incorporating Roman History so it will be an immersive educational experience! Every homeschooler is welcome from the age of 9-18. Other Objectives: Build friendships • Create community • Help each other overcome challenges • Appropriate for Autistic/special needs students/learning-challenged students • Camps • Sword making
